Linear: Sequential Order
Elements of Aeronautics:
This course is designed to make the students aware about the basics of aeronautics and to make them understand about the physics behind the operation of flight. This course deals about the components, operations of airplane, Aerodynamics, Aircraft Materials and structures, Power plants used in airplane and the aircraft systems. At the end of this course, students can able to identify the aircraft and can able to explain the concept of flying to other interested students.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will:
Identification of aircraft: Identify the aircraft and can able explain its types
Aerodynamic behaviour: Understand the aerodynamic behaviour of airplane when it moves in various Mach number
Materials and structures: Explore about the various materials used in airplane and the know the structural behaviour of the materials
Power Plants: To know about the working principles of piston and jet engines used in airplanes
Become beginner in aeronautics: By the end of the course, students will be able to know everything basics of an airplane- operations, behaviour against the air, structural and power plant effects.
.This module Elements of Aeronautics introduces the basic concepts of aviation and about the aircrafts. It exhaustively covers the basics of basics of aircraft structures, propulsion, aerodynamics, performance, controls and propulsion system. Additionally, the module introduces about the aircraft systems and its application in the components of aircraft.
This module Principles of Atmospheric Flight introduces the basic concepts of air properties and about the atmosphere. It exhaustively covers layers of atmosphere, air vehicles, and relationship between temperature, pressure and density. Additionally, the module explain about the lift, drag, mach number and concept of stability.
This module Aircraft Structures and Aircraft Materials introduces Aircraft structures. It covers the introduction to Aircraft structures, types of fuselage construction, typical wing structure construction, metallic and non-metallic materials and composite materials.
This module is going to discuss the operating principles of early piston engines and current jet engines used in Aircraft power plants. It envelops the basic requirements, functions, design, constructions, identify the components, working principles, performance comparison, pros & cons, examples and applications of Piston engine, Turbofan engine, Turboprop engine, Turbojet engine, Ramjet engine and Scram jet engine.
